A hand auger is carried on board as standard when assisting engineers with their investigations. Samples are collected from depths up to 4m subject to ground conditions. As is the same with all investigations we can undertake soil sampling under the supervision of an engineer or by attending site independently and reporting back with auger hole logs and soil samples.
All auger hole logs and soil sampling is completed in accordance with BRE Digest 381 and BRE Digest 383 with soil samples collected in sealed bags. Hand dug and mechanically excavated trial pits for soil sampling or to expose foundations can be arranged on request.
